Location: Victor, ID
Compensation: $18/hour 90 day training wage, then $20/hour
New West KnifeWorks is looking for a Machine Operator to join our growing production facility in Victor, ID. This role is a key player in our production process, working directly with the VG3 Programmer to ensure continued completion of knives and fixtures.
About you:
- Experience or interest in using manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of metal properties and other material
- Communication skills with ability to discuss and solve challenges
What you’ll do:
- Operate a manual mill as well as computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to cut and produce precision knives and fixtures.
- Load parts onto CNC machines
- Learn and understand machine functionality and associated software.
- Keep track of daily totals finished
- Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary. •
- Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
- Collaborate with VG3 programmer to assess problems as needed
