Compensation: Pay Per Piece (after training period) $24-$35/hr equivalent. New West KnifeWorks applies a PPP (Pay Per Piece) compensation for this position.  This system is based on minimum production quotas to ensure a flexible schedule.

New West KnifeWorks and MTN MAN Toy Shop make up America’s premier knife cutlery boutique.  NWKW is looking for the right candidates to assemble some of the world’s finest  functional artwork in our newly outfitted production facility in Teton Valley, ID. See examples of Rock Blocks and Resin Magnets. Our knife block division is looking for skilled builders of our one of a kind signature showpieces.  With our modern workshop, we use cutting edge tools and materials to combine the elements of stone, metal, resins and select woods into functional designs that are true works of art.

What you’ll do:

  • Design layout and plan products within the aesthetic of approved designs
  • Process wood, rock, metal, and stone materials to desired dimensions and shapes.
  • Potentially use CNC machines and programming to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Assemble layers of materials using epoxy and necessary glue up materials
  • Rough shape using power grinders and sanders
  • Finish sanding and polishing of products to the highest quality standards
  • Document finished work and weekly progress.
  • Operate in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure timely preparation and availability of all production materials to avoid shortage during production.
  • Report to supervisor(s) regularly, keeping them updated on production activities and progress.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the production facility.
